Aspen Ladd
Aspen Ladd began her journey in combat sports at the age of 14. Aspen Ladd trained in BJJ, kickboxing, boxing, and wrestling prior to her first appearance as an amateur at WCFC when she was 18. Ladd was able to continue building upon her win at Ultimate Reno Combat, where she won 3 consecutive bouts. She knocked out all her opponents in the first round. Then, she went to WCFC again and beat Leslie Rodriguez in a unanimous decision. Aspen was already defeated Silvia Baeghian as well as Maddy Simmons, before taking the fight to Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia beat Aspen and defeated her via unanimity to create a blemish on Ladd's amateur record. Ladd won her next bout with Roma Pawelek to improve to an 8-1 mark. Aspen signed her contract with Invicta FC in 2015 to start her journey as a pro. She fought Ana Carolina Vidal at Invicta FC 11, and defeated her to secure a first-round TKO. Her next bout was a win in the ring against Amanda Cooper via second-round armbar submission, and then moved up to bantamweight to fight at Invicta FC 16. Aspen employed her skills in wrestling to knock down McGill by TKO in the third-round (elbows & punches). Aspen then fought Jessica Hoy (138.1lb at Invicta FC) in the weight of a "catchweight"(138.1lb) as Ladd was unable to put on the weight. Aspen, however, dominated Hoy by using TKO. Her final fight with this promotion, Ladd fought Sijara Eubanks in a an unanimous decision in Invicta FC 21. Her UFC debut came on UFC Fight Night 118 when she faced Lina Lansberg. She dominated Lina through ground-and-pound and won the TKO round at the end of the 2nd. Ladd continued to dominate and picked up a more impressive victory in her next fight against Tonya Evinger at UFC 229. Ladd defeated Evinger within the first few seconds and earned a reward for her performance on the night. Invicta FC, a rematch of UFC Fight Night dos Anjos and Lee She fought Sijara Eubanks for her first significant fight. The two fights were one of the most competitive fights that Ladd was victorious by a majority decision. Both fighters were awarded an award called the Fight of the Night Bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie put an end to Ladd's winning streak in just 16 seconds. Following a brief break her return to the ring and finished Yana Kunizkaya of the UFC in their ESPN 7 third-round fight. In a last-minute substitute to her UFC bout, she fought Norma Dumont during UFC Fight Night 195. The decision was made unanimously in her favor.
