Jenna Fischer was best known for her role as Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. Her role on The Office has earned her an Emmy nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category. In addition, she received two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by the cast of a comedy.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna saw her mother, Anne, perform in performances at church while she was a child and was able to instill a love for theater and performing.
Fischer was a stage actress who was trained in her home country. The role she played was Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway play Reasons to Be Happy. Following her appearance in Steve Martin's most recent play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy with Greg Germann & Josh Stamberg), she performed in the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer have launched Office Ladies, a podcast hosted by Earwolf in the month of October. The show has been an enormous success, making in the Top Ten worldwide every week as well as receiving over 200 million downloads during its first two-years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year in January 2021.
She's also the author of The Actor's Life An Actor's Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey) The book tells her story of moving from St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming a working actress is narrated.
